once a wanderer, always a wanderer.

originally from small-town ontario, the outdoors was always within reach. playing outside until it was dark was a daily ritual. as the years progressed, the wanderlust became increasingly apparent. a non-stop push and pull that wound itself deep in my veins. seeded, it grew with a fiery passion.

my early twenties were spent abroad learning about oneself and other cultures. bouncing from one country to the next, home was never a place, but a feeling. a sense of self, joy, and unfamiliarity.

then one day i was ready. it was time for me to venture somewhere and stay for a while. i welcomed canada with open arms and settled in the pnw - a lush rainforest littered with mountains to explore. this is where home became a place.

i was able to focus more on creative growth and personal development when home became a place rather than a feeling.

history

my concept of grain + honey was inspired in 2020 by the outdoors lifestyle that the pnw so eagerly exuded. i finally found the confidence to pursue my artistic side in 2020 after years of patience and endless research.

i started to explore the use of natural materials and found a way to combine them with my passion for crafting and design. my goal for grain + honey is to create products that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly.

today, grain + honey is located in the Okanagan but still inspired by the natural landscape of the pnw.

the crisp autumn mornings, the crackling sound of a campfire, and the warmth of your sleeping bag beneath the stars. an unexpected switchback that opens up to a mountainous view of tree tops and ridge lines. tumbleweeds and desert blooms. the fresh scent of pine and the rustle of the wind through the leaves. the sound of silence, broken only by the occasional bird chirp. the feeling of being totally alone in nature, far away from everyday life.
